Throughout February, Chabot hosted several events honoring Black History Month, starting with the Opening Ceremony on February 4. Together, the Chabot community honored the legacy, achievements, and contributions of Black leaders - past and present - while creating space for learning, reflection, and connection across campus. We are grateful to the speakers, performers, organizers, volunteers, and attendees who made these events possible. |

Careers in Healthcare Day |
On February 6, Chabot hosted 379 students and 28 chaperones for our annual Careers in Healthcare Day, notably increasing student attendance by 45% from last year's event! We were proud to welcome students from our feeder high schools as well as two partner charter schools, strengthening and expanding our K-12 health pathway partnerships.
The day kicked off with a vibrant resource fair featuring an ambulance, college programs, community partners, and local employers, followed by a student and professional panel and counseling guidance on education and career pathways. Participants then explored two healthcare fields in depth through lab tours, hands-on activities, and direct conversations with faculty and employers. |

Chabot Club Attends Stanford Premedical Conference |
On February 7, thirty students from Chabot’s Pre Med Club boarded attended the Stanford University Minority Medical Alliance (SUMMA) Conference. SUMMA is designed and staffed by Stanford medical students, aimed at equipping premedical and pre-health students with tools to apply to medical school and other health training programs.
Our students were able to connect with peers from other colleges, mentors, recruiters from multiple medical schools across the country, and participate in a full day of workshop sessions - including incredibly relevant presentations pertaining to pathways to med school starting at the Community College. |

Celebrating Lunar New Year |
| On February 12, Chabot students celebrated Lunar New Year, welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse, which symbolizes energy, action, and ambition.
This year also marks the 10-year anniversary of the Chabot Asian Pacific Islander Education Association (APIEA). APIEA and Movement appreciate everyone's support and look forward to continuing to connect throughout the new year. |
